On tap at the brewery and served in their small footed pilsener shaped glass.
Look- A transparent amber color with a couple centimeters of very light tan foam. It quickly settles to a thin ring leaving no lacing behind. Some carbonation bubbles are present.
Smell- Spicy floral, onion, caramel and mild citrus.
Taste- Floral, grapefruit, pine and caramel malt in the finish.
Feel- Slick and creamy smooth disguising the 9.5% abv. making it dangerous.
Overall- A solid hoppy American barleywine that while loaded with big hop flavor and a respectable abv. drinks rather smoothly. It's definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.
