apparently the extras in this beer change each year, this summer it is a triple berry edition, or rather cherry, raspberry, and blueberry, is cherry a berry? i have never considered that. anyway this is hazy and pink from the tap at the brewery, short headed and a little heavier looking than anticipated, rose colored. it smells great, the lactic souring is clean and moderate, not too much acidity here and nothing sweaty or anything. the fruit all pops too, more raspberry to my senses than anything else, and maybe just a little something nutty in the malt, not as pale and light as most of these. the flavor is more balanced and dynamic, with some obvious cherry, tannins from the blueberries, and the salt drying it out, raspberry still comes first, but it has more support now. more malt coming through than expected, wheaty yes, but its structurally substantial here, and there is some sweetness with it that runs through most of this. i get some lemon in the bacterial profile, again the tang of the raspberry, and some minerals from the salt. its pretty cohesive and its not over flavored, which is a trap so many of these fall into. its not as light and refreshing as i want it to be, but overall this is pretty solid, cool mix of fruits, and professionally done on the lactic souring. summery even if its a little heavier than it needs to be in terms of texture...

Solid Gose style beer with lemon, hibiscus, and salt. Tart initial taste, and then a very solid aftertaste. Pours a dark straw colored yellow with a good nose.
