New England-Style IPA brewed with a balanced amount of malt and plenty of American hops. Fermented with our house ale strain, this hazy IPA offers notes of orange marmalade, pine and tangerine.

this is apparently a brand reboot of their famous beaver bite, i get the desire to appeal to a wider audience with the branding, but it sure seems like a different recipe than the beer i remember, perhaps just a freshness thing, i cam catching it right this time, but it seems to have been lightened and brightened some, and probably deserves new eyes and a new review from what it was some six odd years ago when i reviewed it the first time. fresh and zesty new england ipa here, hit the mark for sure on a hot golf course, and has some uniqueness to it, like almost a belgian ester or something, maybe unintentional, maybe fermented warmer than it should have been, but to me its fruity and kind of flatters the hops in this, and this has quite a bit of juicy complexity to it. i also like that its not crazy heavy, some starchy and fluffy grain feel to it, but its not filling like a lot of these can be, a could drink several of them no problem, seems a bit lighter overall than i remember from the beaver bite. the hops hit like ripe melon, key lime, and even pear, estery and floral with the yeast, but also pretty bitter still, dry on the finish but with some intense hoppy recall. i like what the yeast brings, some people will not, but i think it brings out a cool side of these hops, and i love the juicy melon and bright gin notes this has. flavorful stuff, a little different than it used to be i think, nicely rebranded, i think this can run outside of the adirondacks now, and that was probably the goal, a little more modern and clean to me, but it had been awhile since a pint of beaver bite for me. good to see them moving forward either way!

Was surprised by this in a bad way. Actually liked Beaver Bite as a session ale. This was almost undrinkable, and I rarely pour out beer. No hop character (shocking for a NEIPA), soapy taste.
I truly hope that this was a one off mistake that got past quality control. I want this brewery to do better and have success.
