If you get into this beer expecting a standard "brown ale," you will be surprised. There is lots of sweet malt that pops out of this, and it might make you think you're drinking a Belgian dark ale. The feel is a bit thin for me, and while the smell and the taste are both completely pleasant, I thought there was an extra layer of complexity that could have been added to this. I liked it, but I think I would get a different growler of something next time.
