Pours way darker than any blonde ale I’ve ever seen. The smell is bready with notes of apple juice. The taste has a strong yeasty taste to it, not unpleasant, exactly the opposite, but stronger than your typical blonde ale. I quite enjoyed this one

Before going here, my cousin that typically drinks light lagers mentioned she drank this while she was a student at Brock, so I fully expected this to be a pale lager substitute. Pours a pale orange colour with fizzy white head that dissipates quickly with very mild lace. Flavour is basically just a clean macro lager, nothing too descript about it, but nothing off either. Really big carbonation level. No point to drink this unless you wanted to drink a Canadian or Blue and realized they don't have it at the Merchant Ale House.

The aroma was very faint. The only detectable aroma was citrus.
Looks hazy. Yellow/orange in colour. Small head, with not much head retention.
Had to let it warm up for evaluation.Tastes a bit like orange peels. Definaltely getting citrus flavours off of it. A little bit of yeasty flavours but they are taking back-seat to the orange peel.
Mouthfeel was very fizzy, gassy, and crisp. Light to light-medium bodied.
Overall, it's given a pass. I'd prefer their stout, or ESB though.

Not good, I'd give this a pass.
Very weak-kneed across the board with only a hint of flavour and aroma of any sort. Quite watery and characterless with a slightly metallic tang. Some points for its clear golden colour. Disappointing compared to some of the house's other offerings.
The worse news is that this is the basis for a Strawberry Blonde variant ...
On the positive side this (and the Strawberry) were the only house brews I really didn't care for, otherwise it's a lineup worth sampling.

Why bother when a few yards away your fomer brewer brews up a very decent blond. I guess it's a staple. Bit of yeast here, not noticeably creamy rather watery. Aggressively carbonated. Drinkable. Lace was nice, yellow golden. Astringent and you can pass on this one.
