Brewed for the winter months this dark brown ale is 6.5%. Chocolate Malt and Dark Crystal malts are used and balanced with Goulding Hops to produce a robust beer with a very round mouth feel.

Had this on tap at the Merchant Ale House in St. Catharines. I wasn't sure what type of beer this was before ordering, but with a name like Skullcrusher, I figured it would be something like a barleywine or a double IPA. Well the bartender said, "It is a nut brown ale, about 6.5% alcohol."
Pours a deep brown colour with thin white head. Nice lacing down the glass. Smells quite nutty and of sweet milk chocolate. Very sweet flavour, some roasted malt comes through in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel. A really nice nut brown ale, I just don't understand the name.
