Had on-tap at Falling Down.

Falling Down describes this beer as: "A classic English Porter with just the right amount of chocolate."... and I'd say that's a perfectly fine description. The appearance is odd... the Campfire Brown was darker, and I thought they may have put the wrong beers in the wrong places, but I realized they didn't after I tasted it. This is a kind of light brown porter -- I'm used to them being just about black. Basically no head, and minimal lacing as well. It has the relatively thin body you'd expect out of (most) porters, with a nice chocolate note that isn't at all overwhelming. The aroma is basically identical to the taste -- classic porter smell, with some chocolate thrown in there. The carbonation "pops" the taste buds and helps contribute to the flavor. It's not the sort of beer you haven't had before, but it's a very good porter. As it turns out, this is one of the best beers I had at Falling Down. A dark beer that doesn't drink like a meal, and isn't ridiculously sweet or unbalanced -- this is well worth trying.
