Had on-tap at Falling Down.
16oz of a double IPA for $6? ($5 with a check-in) Seems a bit too reasonable to be a good beer... but it wound up being better than I had really anticipated. Nice and bitter on the start, with a semi-sweet, semi-drying finish. A minor warmth and bit of alcohol is there at the end as well. The feel is medium with moderate carbonation... this is a DIPA that doesn't feel too heavy, which is great. The smell on this is actually really sugary, without much of a pine/earth aroma... I wouldn't say it's particularly fruity, but it's certainly not earthy. This beer reminds me a lot of a far more enjoyable C-Monster from Liberty Street. It has a mildly peculiar aftertaste, but it's not half as strong or off-putting as C-Monster is. A nice DIPA at a fair price... would have another.
