Draft at the brewery, served in a stemmed wine goblet.
Pale gold with a thin layer foam that fades quickly.
Brett funk aroma, mild acidity and dried pineapple.
Pineapple vinegar flavor, reminds me of tepache.
Watermelon is nonexistent. Medium body, sharp acetic acidity.
This just reinforces why I stopped buying these fruit vinegar bottles.

after loving their framboise, i was excited to try this one, but it goes back to what i have thought about some of their others, overly sour and a bit one dimensional. this is really acidic, and not lively enough from the tap to stay moving, which sort of slows me down and heavies this up, white vinegar and harsh bacterial elements define it, some minerals and some funk as well, but this is caustic, hard to drink more than a little bit of. a shame too, because the fruit aspect is nice, more watermelon than pineapple, but both are there in aroma and flavor and both seem quite natural. i like the fleshy watermelon making this seem so summery, but even half the acid would be a lot, they just let this go out of control in the regard, and the little bit of pineapple sweetness isnt enough to bring it back into the realm of drinkable. a bit of white wine to this too, tannic in that way and tropical, but there isnt enough oak to tame it down at all, and it seems even a little cheap to me. decent if you like them this sour, but im not sure who could drink more than a small glass of this. its cool to see some of these beers in colorado for what i believe to be the first time, but the hit or miss trend unfortunately continues for me with these guys...

A great sour, strong pineapple flavor and scent. A little watermelon rind taste and scent, with some vegetable notes on the finish. A really nice beer, and great sour for summer!

Thanks goes out to thebeers for this brew, NBS BIF#5
750ml
Poured into a tulip a really nice cloudy pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy/fizzy one-finger white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some pineapple, tart, funky. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, really nice touch of pineapple/watermelon. tart, funky. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very nice brew. My first from this brewery. Thanks Arthur!
