Can to tulip.
The appearance was a semi-murky dark woody orange color with a full on rocky eggshell white foamy head. Love how the head falls off - it seems to look like a chest letting go of a heavy breath, nice show! Not really any lace.
The aroma captured a beautiful balance of sweet to tart pear flesh and skin blending with pomegranate flesh, seed and skin. Subtle grassy hops with sour lemon skin makes a super subtle mark underneath.
The flavor leaned towards the sour side initially spurring on a wonderful blend of fruity skin-like character weaving through the pear flesh and pomegranate seeds. Aftertaste was there running through the pear and pomegranate notes.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Nice carbonation with some smoothness, a touch of dryness and subtle sweet grassy effects. Finishes crisp with pear and pomegranate juiciness.
Overall, I'd say a pretty nicely done fruited sour ale with a bit more body than expected but would make nicely for a mid-Spring session again.
