Deep purple, minimal head, moderate cloudiness. Somewhat muted aroma of mixed berries, vanilla, tart apple. Punchy tartness on the front palate--not as mouth-puckering as many of Une Annee's wild ales, but the sensation dominates the initial sip. Berry flavors and balanced sweetness emerge near the finish and once the palate numbs a bit from the acidity. Feels thinner than comparable LGM releases. Enjoyable because I like the particular fruits, but I was hoping for more intensity on the berry flavors to counter the degree of tartness--maybe more raspberry would have evened things out.
