2016 vintage; drank 6/2/16 @ Temperance.
Opaque red/purple appearance.
Fluffy off-white head; strong lace.
Caramel, mango & cane sugar notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel, grapefruit & cane sugar flavors up front; honey notes on the finish. No booze heat.
Sweet, to be sure, but somehow very easy to quaff. Excellent!

Served in a tumbler at Mundelein Brewfest 2014.
Moving on to the Temperance area, my first experience with the Evanston crew. This offering pours a clear russet-ruby topped by a finger of light khaki foam. The nose comprises staid caramel, mild pine, light dark greens, and a hint of candied orange peel. The taste brings in more of the same, the caramel and pine taking firm control of the proceedings, maintaining a decent balance, though both elements are on the muted side. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda creamy-ish feel. Overall, a nice imperial red, nothing overtly special, but something to indulge in on occasion.
