Another old beer from a batch of old beer. 16 oz. can dated 2020.
Black & dead. The nose is faint: imagined nuts & bourbon. Very faint.
Might Meets Right: Coconut & Almond gives lie to the missing nose. All the advertised ingredients are here in spades: bourbon, nuttiness, coconut blend seamlessly with a backboard of mild cocoa & vanilla. Alcohol shows but doesn’t distract. On the old, lighter side of a big stout which makes it easier to pound that a wheat beer on a 95 degree day. Which we’re getting a lot of already.
A very good beer that can’t quite break the staved ceiling into the top echelon.

Brownish black with a brownish-tan head that fades into a subtle ring. Smells of coconut, milk chocolate, almond flour, vanilla and bourbon booze. Taste brings in oak in a rewarding fashion, chocolate is a little darker, bourbon more faint though, but the coconut and almond are front and center now, with accenting vanilla, a little intense for any sense balance, but delicious. Sweeter, nutty, cool considering it was barrel aged, very creamy, and sneaky light.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, almond, coconut and a hint of cocoa. Flavor follows, with sweet dark toasted malt, coconut and almond with a little chocolate on the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Like a liquid Almond Joy, with less chocolate character. Good balance of the almond and coconut, the malt is a little light for the intense flavors. A little hot, but a pleasant dessert stout that delivers on its flavoring elements.

12 oz can from Tavour. Black flat pour, oily, slick. Aroma is sweet, coconut, hint of almond. Taste brings more Mounds bar flavors, chocolate, before quickly being consumed by a healthy dose of alcohol burn. Sweet flavors linger, sticky.

Released 12/20/19; drank 1/3/20 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small khaki head; frothy lace.
Coconut, mild milk chocolate & faint cinnamon notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Coconut, chocolate, oak & faint cinnamon flavors.
Not bad, but so, so thin. Hope they beef these up next year.
