This one pours a brown, almost dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells mostly like roasted malt, but there's also some coffee and licorice.
The added "roots" aren't too strong by any means, which is fine, especially as licorice goes for my palate. There's just a hint of licorice, smoke, and a touch of coffee character that might enhanced by the chicory. It's mostly roasted malt, and just a clean simple porter base.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, with a good drinkability.
I might not have known this has some flavor additions to it without knowing, but I still enjoyed this.

solid porter.. a little too much carbonation
