A: Pours a dark red color. A two finger white head forms with good retention. Plenty of lace is left behind.
S: Toasted malts and some grains. Earthy hops that are slightly woody. A touch of bitterness lingers.
T: Like the nose, toasted malts and grains. A bit of baked bread flavor, and then earthy hops. Slightly woody again, and a lingering bitterness. Simple, but well made. If not exceptional, still very good.
M/O: A medium body with high carbonation at first. Almost prickly on the tongue. That smooths out after a bit, and becomes very clean and crisp. Very easy to drink, something I can come back to without a thought.
A very nice Common. Not exceptional, but simple, well balanced and just enjoyable. Maybe not the best in the style, but something I really enjoy.

Draft/growler, nonic pint
A – Medium to deep copper with very high clarity. About a half inch of slightly off-white foam, with fairly low retention.
S – Caramel malt, toasted bread crust and light toffee, a lot of sweetness on the nose. Hops are bright and floral, with medicinal, spicy notes coming in late. Fairly crisp.
T – Malt is caramel-grainy-sweet, and provides a backbone for the hops. Hops are herbal and medicinal, and provide moderate to assertive bitterness. A light touch of tropical fruit and/or fruity esters. Fairly clean, though.
M – Low to moderate carbonation, probably some lost on the growler fill. Some mild sweetness, but hop bitterness is in charge. Fairly juicy throughout, but a touch of dryness on the finish. Medium body.
O – A lot of good things here, would love a little more emphasis on the malt, and bit more dryness on the finish, to balance things out.
