somewhere between a clean saison, a belgian pale, and an american hazy ipa, this probably starts wheaty and with a flavorful almost vinous saison strain, estery and fluffy, but its dry hopped to oblivious so that the base beer has almost changed into something entirely new, but its tasty, like all the hoppy beers these guys make, its just too bold on the hops to be real drinkable, and i miss some of the saison elements in it, as much as i like it. lots of body, hazy from the tap, but with a huge aromatic of green hops, some pine and some heavy citrus and dehydrated pineapple and mango to it as well, some lightly phenolic element from the yeast, and event just a touch of astringency. flavorful and delicious, white grape, subtle melon, and some nice tropical fruit, the yeast and hops really do work together, and i think the little bit of bitterness here helps with that. pine in the finish, a little over saturated hop harshness and bite, and i like it less as it warms but i still like it. some brett would be cool in here, the yeast seems done a little warm, but its contribution is a big part of what makes this such a unique brew. a total style bender, but a success for the most part. glad to be seeing these guys around colorado more and more this year, i hope it keeps up!
