Canned on 12/30/2020 - One day old! And poured into a Founders - CBS goblet (the wide-mouthed glass, not the more common balloon style snifter)
L - A dark, murky copper color - looks more like I'm about to drink a syrupy triple IPA like Waldo's Special Ale or something
S - Toasted malt, cinnamon and spice, slight honey and orange indicating a cloy sweetness
T - A cloying rich honey with a generally sweet spiced taste. The black pepper IS present, which I love about this beer. There is a slight grain flavor - not in an adjust lager way - but just a toasted malt bill. The whole presentation is like eating preserves on toast to me. Winter warmer style beers have always been one of my favorites Golden Hour fits in just fine
F - Cloy, sticky, and somewhat bready. What you'd want out of a winter beer. This is a winter ale, not your Sam Adams Winter Lager (which is decent, in my experience)
O - A good winter warmer type experience. Makes me miss going and getting a couple six packs of Jubleale, which isn't as widely available in my area as it once was. I will say I was expecting less cloy honey and more pepper and ginger. This beer could maybe use a slight hop bite to it, as it did have the room for it. Still a great winter beer to have on New Year's Eve.
