This falls into the category of tropical IPAs that have a little juice aspect, though it's cut by a classic American hop bitterness.
Pours a light burnished brass, like the color of a trumpet. Head of white tiny bubbles has a little spittle aspect. This lasts decently but provides no lacing.
Nose is nicely tropical fruity, pineapple, guava, mango - sweet more than tart or tangy. There's a little reedy grass note that adds the slightest contrast.
Taste has citrus added that cuts into the tropical. The feel isn't quite fuzzy but has some action up front, and along with a fair malt presence makes it harder to discern specific fruit flavors.
A little lime zest and mango/unsweet pineapple seem to make it through the fizz. This doesn't last too long until a balancing reedy to almost woody bitterness starts making inroads. The pineapple holds the high ground. As it warms, grapefruit and pith seems to come out more. Light lingering note is one detracting note - it has an artificial sweetener aspect to it.
Everything up to the end was nice. This beer seems pulled in a few (malty, juicy, tropical, citrus, bitter), and to its credit, it doesn't fall apart. A decent offering that I think needs to be tweaked to tighten it's focus.
