Brewed in collaboration with Barreled Souls (Saco, ME). The bottle: "belgian style quad ale w/ peaches aged in brandy barrels". There's a thick bit of sealing wax which makes this bottle difficult to open. Once done, the compressed bubbles start streaming out. That said, the head is brief and it leaves no lace (similar to soda poured on ice). The liquid is muddy brown where light passes through the center.
Fruity aroma like a freshly cut peach.
The flavor is very tart, but the peaches still come through. Muted carbonation with a slightly rich body. Despite the high alcohol content, there's no warmth evident. The sourness is extraordinary--lemon-like without any lemon flavor. There's no lingering sweetness so this doesn't come across like a quad.
