No date on 16oz can purchased 8/16/20 in Atlanta, but decided to take a chance as it was on a ‘new beer’ shelf. Poured into a snifter glass with fingers worth of fluffy head that lingers and sticks to the rim. Clear pale golden in color. Aromas of melon, white grape and honey. Definitely not pilsner-like in any classic sense, but then again, I’m not terribly familiar with “New Zealand” style and what that entails. Taste is round, not crisp, juicy, hoppy, with notes of lychee. It’s kind of a see-saw taste experience - unbalanced and disjointed. Maybe it’s because I was hoping for more Pilsner character that I’m left wanting more restraint, or maybe I need to stick to czech/bohemian styles and stop chasing American, New Zealand, or any other non-traditional “Pilsners.”
