L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a milk chocolate brown color and murky, thick consistency. There was a thin, off white, foamy head that quickly dissipated. Average lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of malt, caramel, vanilla, booze, wood, and nuts.
T: Tasted of a good amount of vanilla (more than expected, but not obnoxiously so), a good shot of caramel (quite sweet, but not cloyingly so), a decent amount of malt (a solid backbone of), some bourbon (and its accompanying barrel), and a light presence of hazelnuts. This is a complex, big, and sweet flavor. Well-balanced and easy to drink.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth, yet slightly syrupy, finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An extremely likable barleywine. Drinkable stuff.
