Poured moderately hard from a tall bottle into a snifter glass. Very dark brown opaque color. The smell is apple brandy and spices, very intriguing. The taste follows, with spices and some bourbon up front with apple brandy at the end. Somehow doesn't taste anywhere near the 16% stated on the label. Medium bodied with very little carbonation. Very impressed.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a deep, dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Sparse lacing.
S: A very enticing aroma of chocolate, booze, malt, and spices.
T: Tasted of decent of bourbon (and its accompanying barrel), a good shot of dark chocolate (sweet and very welcome), some malt (a subtle backbone, but kind of overpowered by the other ingredients), and a fair amount of spices (cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, in particular. This is an aggressive, complex and likable flavor. A good combo of sweet and boozy.
F: An average amount of carbonation and a super smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A well made and focused stout. Drinkable.
