This place is kind of hard to find unless you're specifically looking for it. It's more of an eatery than a bar, and we thought the food was average. We ordered their Rockefeller Oyster bed and Italian Mussels, they were just okay. The beer selection is also average at best. They just have a few of the Bell's Micro Lagers and the other more common beers, notably the Guinness Stout and Newcastle Brown Ale.
The patio is very nice, and that's why I gave it 4 for atmosphere. Service was prompt and good. Music was a rather boring instrumental, barely audible.
Overall, it was okay but probably not a place we would go back to.

I checked this joint out because they brew their own. I'll be back for the food! Skinny little place downtown. Dark-stained wood under a moderate nautical theme. Despite all the pretty people milling about and patting each other on the back the atmosphere is relaxing, and elevated by a view of the kitchen. I started traditional, stout and oysters, and it just got better from there. Tomatoe salad with feta and capers drenched by a piquant anchovy dressing. Tuna, wrapped in Nori, dipped in tempura and flash fried just long enough to crisp the batter. Whole crab meat cakes touched with sesame oil. Wasabi aioli spattered about the plate. Amazing! And well complemented by an English-style IPA. So the beer wasn't great. Four selections including a late season Oktoberfest--aged I presume. But you could probably drain a day old, ashed in, Busch Light and not notice because you're creaming over the food. In Fort Wayne? Break out the plastic and treat yourself to a superb meal and a few beers at the Oyster Bar.

The Oyster Bar is a landmark in Fort Wayne - in semi-steady operation since 1888. Their downtown location has wickedly good food and service, and in its tiny dining area you'll be rubbing shoulders with Fort Wayne's elite.

The satellite restaurant is completely different: instead of being right downtown in a European-style configuration, this off-shoot is amidst urban-sprawl and a strip mall. So much for the ambiance.

But the food here is equally good (read: pricey) and the service is to match. In fact, the interior of the restaurant is downright beautiful and looks like its straight from an independent film.

The beer is usually pretty decent, but might just be the most unstable offering ever. Every time i've had the beer it has been completely different. I've even had some pints that were undrinkable, they must've been contaminated.

To call this a brew-pup is pretty ridiculous; its more of a 4 1/2 restaurant with a tiny brewery. You'll oft find $1 pints at their satellite location, so that keeps me coming back no matter the variations.
