Poured into dimpled seidel. Fizzy head with no retention and a small patch of lace. Classic brown color, a little on the ruby brown side.

Sweet nose like brown sugar and malt. Taste is more muted, bitter nut wraps around the hops. Smooth sweetness. Very standard fare. Body is fairly light.

The aroma's a little nicer than the taste, but not a bad brown at all.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with a good head. Aroma of roasted malt, bit caramel and grain in the background. Taste follows aroma. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, smooth with a decent malty feel. Not too bad.

A deep, malty beer with a pretty good body, has a thickness to it.

Taste Rating in Words: It's a nice thick, soft carpet between your toes on a cool winter night.

From a twelve ounce bottle, this brew has a creamy, tarnish colored head. The aroma is an enticing light malt and toasted bread-crust scent. The taste, though, falls a little flat. Although there are hints of fruit and a richness in the scent, the taste is really hollow. Medium in body and not as good as it could have been.

Pours a clear dark brown color. 5/4 inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, chocolate, slight roasted malt, hint of caramel malt, slight hops, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of an American Brown Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, roasted malt, hint of chocolate, slight caramel malt, hint of hops, and slight pale malt. Overall, good appearance and aroma, but blend is dominated by roasted malt, and body is weak in the finish.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via a friend from work----Thanks Randy!
This solid brown pours a dark brown cola with a decent head of white foam that
settles to a thick ring, subtle pool, and sports spotty lacing. Nose of toasted nutty
malts and slight herbal hops. Flavors follow the nose with a balanced nutty and toasted
malt character with a herbal hop note that is pronounced on the rear. Nice mouth feel;
smooth, crisp, medium high carbonation, and a roasted malt mingling with hop bitterness
on the rear. Overall, solid for the style with nothing outside of the style boundaries.

A solid brown ale.

Cheers

Brown in color with an inch of creamy beige resting on top. I smell caramel malt and not much else. The taste is a touch of caramel and gentle light malt. The mouth is delicate and smooth.

Poured out a clear, brown color with a small off-white head of foam. It smelled nutty and of sweet caramel.
This tastes more like an English Brown with a strong nutty presence. Sweet with a mild bitterness.

A decent brown beer. Pours a deep brown tea color with a small head. Nice smell with chocolate notes. Has a good flavor but a little more watered down taste than their King Louie Coffee Stout which is a good dark beer. Nice mouth feel and swallow. Would drink again.
