Style: Dunkelweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.40%

Availability: Fall

Notes / Commercial Description:
Dunkelweizen is a traditional German beer style that is characterized by the Bavarian Weisse yeast strain, which produces notes of banana and clove. The darker grains in this beer create the rich mahogany color and toasted bread character. The addition of real Pumpkin and our proprietary spice blend complement the banana flavor from the yeast, forming the perfect balance in our liquid interpretation of Pumpkin Banana Bread.

Pours cloudy brown with a thin light tan head, that disappears quickly. Smells like pumpkin bread, actually. Tastes of pumpkin and nutmeg, has that good fall bread flavor. Fairly carbonated and light-medium bodied. Also, 5.4% abv, since it's not listed above. O'Fallon Brewery has quite a few really good pumpkin beers.

Nutmeg, pumpkin, with a light beer taste hiding beneath. With the name I was hoping for more body and more malt.

Taste rating in words: it's a beautiful face hiding behind a Halloween mask that you can't take off.

Amber in color with no head, but there are signs of carbonation bubbles erupting from the depths. The aromas are of pumpkin pie spice and wheat. I'm tasting equal parts pumpkin and wheat. The mouth is light and easy going.

It must near autumn, pumpkin and spice ales are everywhere. This one is a murky, hazy, deep brown color. The smell is absolutely a pumpkin bread aroma....they nailed it. However, as a beer, it is a bit raw...lots of spice, a bit too much. Medium in body and interesting, but not outstanding.

Poured out a clear, burgundy color with a small, thin head of tan foam. It smelled of pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon. Tasted like a normal pumpkin ale. Didn't much dunkel like qualities.
