one of the better beers i have had from these guys, on tap at the bridge saint louis. its beautiful from the tap, pale golden in color with a rich white nitro looking head, really attractive. aroma is bright belgian yeast with notes of green pear, tea, and cut flowers, balanced by earthy bready malts with honey, biscuit, and yellow cake characteristics. in the flavor, the yeast really leads the way, floral and summery, apple and pear, white grape and apricot, nice fruity bouquet to it but none of those too warm esters, its nicely restrained and quite complex. i added the beer as a belgian pale, but its more of a belgian golden or single, which for me excludes the hops usually associated with a classic belgian pale, and this one certainly isnt hoppy, not sure why we dont have a separate category for beers of this nature. i like all the body on this, its rich and hearty, like a session trippel almost in that regard, and its brilliantly bubbly all the way through. light spice and golden raisin at the end, a little bit of alcohol, and some faint residual sweetness to keep it lingering a bit. a really satisfying glass of beer, some of the best i have had from o'fallon.
