12 oz. bottle, no bottled on date. My third and final Gummie Beer from O'Fallon, acquired three of these as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. No real style defined on the bottle, I listed this one as an American pale wheat beer, as that's what I found the other 2 to be most in line with - though at the time I listed them as Malt Liquor for not knowing. Alas
Poured to a Camp Crystal Lake stemless tumbler.
Same as it appears through the clear glass bottle - body is a strawberry juice red. No real conjuring of any head - just some wispy white foam that washes up along the sides of the glass. Does leave a little bit of tiny scattered lacing; appears sticky & aptly carbonated. Like the others, it has a bit of sedimentary haze toward the bottom of the bottle. Looks excellent.
This one is definitely much more sweet smelling than the previous ones I tried: there is a huge blast of sugary sticky Hawaiian Punch fruit soda smell which is practically unmistakable. Notes of strawberry, cherry, fruit roll-ups, maybe some artificial watermelon smell? Very vague smells of wheat and strawberry cream oatmeal emerges toward the very end. I'll say it definitely seems like they achieved what they were going for.
Initial blast of sour pucker on the taste followed up with tons of fruity artificial cherry / strawberry juice drink flavor. Definitely tastes the least like an actual beer out of the three in this series that I tried. Emulates an alcoholic Hawaiian Punch style beverage very accurately. Lightly tart; maybe some hints of sea salt or kettle souring? I don't know but it tastes Gose-y to me at times.
Smooth & crisp. Medium-bodied, pretty easy drinking, slightly filling / bloating.
Overall, probably my least favorite of the ones I've tried, but I am loving on this series of beers, and would love to see more flavors / varieties. Keep up the good work, O'Fallon.
