Appearance: Pours a crystal-clear, orange/amber body with a good sized head that fades to a thin cap.
Smell: Aroma of mesquite smoke and malt. The smokey aroma dominates and kinda makes it hard to pick out other scents.
Taste: The first thing that hits me is a strong malty flavor. After that, the smoke flavor takes over and finishes sweet. Smoked beers aren't my thing...
Mouthfeel: Oily and creamy with a medium body. For a winter brew, it's a little lacking in body.
Drinkability: For me, the smoke flavor ruins it. I've tried their Smoked Porter and a rauchbier from Germany...smoked beers and me do not get along.

12oz bottle light clear brown color, small white head that quickly disappears, malty bready aroma, spicy malty and light smokey flavors, medium body, has a nice creamy mouthfeel, some dryness in the finish,a bit light for the style, still a decent winter brew.
