Light just barely comes through the clear dark brown red rust body. Light tan head with minimal lacing. Nose is toffee caramel, grist, straw, date, plum, tobacco. Taste is caramel, burnt sugar, a little banana, fig. Medium to light body. Delicious.

"Best before 3/1/25"; drank 8/5/24 @ Pokemon Communion.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
Small tan head; decent lacing remained.
Burnt caramel, cream & fresh leather notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Burnt caramel & cream flavors up front; fresh leather notes on the finish.
I'm not sure you could make a dubbel too much better. Borderline amazing.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- It looks like a stout/porter it's that dark, seriously! Pours without sediment, with a 2mm mid-tan head.
S- Very roasty-toasty too, hints of fireplace log-ashes.
T- Log-ashes and charring right on the front, some cocoa plus a facet of richness (not sweetness). Surely this has chocolate malt in it...
F- Good balance of hops, CO2 + a touch of richness....
O- ... but it this honestly a Brune? It comes over as waaay more like a chocolate stout/porter. Nice though, easy drinking, no rough, unexpected or out of balance edges.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! Firstly the labelling is exactly as per the pic shown above. Otherwise, no surprises to be found there. #1861.
500ml bottle BB: 29/07/2022 Euro3.95 Bought from BeerMania/Belgium as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Brown colour, nice head. Caramel smell. The taste in sweet, but with a dry sour-bitterness to balance. Dried fruits, chocolate also. Really good and enjoyable.

500 ml bottle, dated best before 16/04/2020. Brought back from a trip to Belgium
pours a very dark brown, khaki colored head. decent head retention. Rich malty aroma - bready, dark caramel, a touch of raisin and fig. similar flavor, but not too sweet, good balance of all the flavors. a touch of the herbal spice Belgian yeast flavor in there too. medium bodied, but super smooth mouthfeel - like silk.

Rough, unbalanced bouquet. Too more etanol.

From bottle, pours a very dark brown colour with a thin layer of beige coloured head. Aroma cocoa, chocolate, brown sugar, nutty. Taste pretty much follows the nose. It's ok and very crushable.
