Olhão 12/7 2016. 33 cl bottle from Continente Modelo Supermarket. Transparent label with a woman silhouette in silver. Looks like something they would serve in a strip bar.
Pours dark amber with a slightly off-white head. A bit bubbly. Head disappears after a minute or so. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is of toffee and light caramel. Hint of brow sugar. Whiff of sour grains.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate. Lively texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a light but pleasant bitterness. Lingers in the aftertaste. Together with a whiff of alcohol.
Nice one. I will certainly choose this one next time I am at the titty bar.

A: Thick dark brown body with no head at all and consequently no retention nor lacing. Poorly executed.
S: Mostly roasted malts with a small tone of coffee and alcohol.
T: This is where this beer gets interesting. The barley is roasted almost to a perfect point but still misses on building up after the sip. It's sweet and with almost no bitterness at all, it lacks body for an amber ale.
M: No visible gasification but in mouth it's quite acceptable.
O: The appearance is not as bad as the beer's general 'performance' but I won't recall this as a good beer to have in the future.
