On tap at Swiftwater Brewing Company in Rochester, NY. Guest keg.
Pours a pretty dark black, wit h light mocha colored head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells more black than IPA- I get mostly roasted malt, and a little bit of smoke. If I really inhale deeply, I get a bit of pine.
In the taste, this does feel more like an IPA, but this one still leans more towards hoppy porter/stout than black IPA, which is just fine. There's some creamy vanilla, almost feel like there's lactose here, like a milk stout, but I doubt there is. I get a lot of roasted malt, and some lightly burnt pine, and a little bit of citrus.
This is medium bodied, with a pretty creamy but dry mouthfeel, and a medium level of carbonation.
It seems like Galaxy is picking it up a little bit. When they're on, they're on, but when they're off, they make some really bad beer. This is luckily an example of them being. Good work.

Outstanding Black IPA. Pours to a nice head that has staying power. Feels smooth In your mouth and leaves with a wonderful bite. A good compliment to many foods, including pizzas or burgers. It is equally enjoyable without accompaniment. Everything I could ask for in an IPA.
