16oz can from the beer fridge at the brewery, poured in to a nonic pint glass.

Slightly cloudy golden orange color with lots of tiny bubble carbonation. A creamy white cap leaves ample ring and spot lacing.

There's a mix of hop aromas; citrus, tropical fruit, vinous. Bold caramelized malt, and a note of alcohol.

Mango and melon and apricot. Very faint citrus in the end. Sweet malt, 8.0% abv soaked grain.

Full body, gently carbonated, silky. The hop finish duels with the alcohol sweetness.

Very aromatic and good flavor. I like it and believe that it might be better if the abv were dialed back slightly.

the latest in their rotating series of ipas, this one quite a lot less cloudy than the other hop forward beer we had in here. its a wonderfully aromatically pungent southern hemisphere hop complexion over a very simple grain base, maybe nothing more than two row, which allows the hops to really stand out in their true essence here. i think they use a number of varietals, but it has a nelson or galaxy or vics secret or all three sort of nose to it, that tropical, fruity, pineapple citrus thing, so bright and alive, almost fresh hopped smelling, with a white grape essence and a floral aspect as well, quite a complete hop spectrum really, especially for varietals that are usually used late kettle or in the dry hop. this has good depth of hop flavor too, a touch of oily sweetness and a nice bitterness at the end, still very mild as ipa goes, but for these particular hops and how aromatic they are, the beer actually has some finish, not just a juicy dry hopped bomb. elderflower, apricot, and mango drifts finish this off, still green and vegetal and fresh too. a really solid ipa, a nice showcase of some of the sexier hops out there in my opinion, and a beer they might want to think about incorporating into their regular lineup...
