On tap at Pacific Plate Brewing Company in Monrovia, CA.
Described as Copa De Oro aged on oak soaked in Panamanian rum.
Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wood, rum, citrus fruit, and dried orange peel aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit, dried orange peel, wood, and slight rum flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with the rum soaked oak working well with the base beer.
Serving type: on tap.
