Surprising malty and smokey beer. It was brewed for the Borefts beer festival in 2016. The beer type of the festival was kellerbier and the breweries often take a quite liberal approach on it. So it is no surprise that this would be not recognized by anyone in a blind tasting as a kellerbier. Well, who cares it was not bad though I did not overly enjy the smoke as well and I would prefer a traditional Austrian or Franconian Keller/Zwickl over this creation.

Hazy dark orange color with off-white head. Aroma has grainy malt, a bit of sugar and slightly tart citrus fruits. Taste is slightly smoky, citrusy, quite unexpected combination. Bready malt, more on the sweet side but also slightly tart. Medium body and carbonation. Overall it's an interesting beer, not a traditional kellerbier at all.
