Reviewed from notes.
Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a semi-murky to dark copper/amber color with a quickly sliding semi-foamy head that barely left any lace.
The aroma had some smoke, light maple, and a light caramel/nutty malty tone.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness initially of the blend and pulled in the smoke ever so slightly. Mild sweet maple aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, yet somewhat low. ABV felt on par.
Overall, pretty nice strong ale, but almost seemed to lean towards the English side since I didn't find it hoppy like other American ones of it's style.
