Poured from the tap into a pint glass at NYC Penn Station bar. Pours golden brown yellow with two fingers worth of head and good retention. Subtle hop bitterness coupled with fruity citrusy taste. Decent beer.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a golden color with a finger’s worth of white frothy head. Slyly dissipated and left some stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet biscuit to bready malt up front with some citrusy hoppiness coming through nicely. The flavor started with the malts and eventually combined into the hops fairly nice. Adding a little bit of piney hop bitterness. Nice aftertaste hitting upon the blend of malts to hops to slide into the finish. The feel was between light and medium bodied with a good carbonation about it. ABV felt as the brewer projected it. Overall, pretty nice APA that I would have again. Could be a nice grill side beer.

473 ml can served cold into a Amsterdam Boneshaker tulip glass. Purchased from Fortinos in Hamilton for around $3 CDN.
Appearance - Pours a very hazy bright golden and orange colored beer. A rich finger and a half of white head is poured and retention is good and rocky looking. Many tiny bubbles rise to the surface around the edges of the glass.
Smell - A healthy tropical aroma of mandarin oranges and hints of pineapple. A significant malt presence on the nose too. Basically smells like a fairly juicy IPA and aromas aren't dialed down much at all.
Taste - Light, but tropical and juicy. Some bitterness but counterracted by a sweet fruity flavor. Healthy malt bill counterracting the hops here. Orange and pineapple are the stars with some grapefruit backing that shines through more at the end of the sip.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and light bodied with lots of carbonation. Oily and slicker than most APA's.
Overall - Forge and Fire West Coast Pale Ale fits really nicely in Collective Ats portfolio being a well hopped and juicy pale ale, that shares many characteristics with Rhyme and Reason and Ransack the Universe. Greater than the sum of its parts. Definitely worth a try and hoping to see this brew appear at additional locations in Southern Ontario.
