Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe and Citra star in the numero uno addition of our Collective IPA series. These three hops were grown to be together, the New Zealand grown Nelson-Sauvin hops impart a strong fruity flavour with an aroma that resembles white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Paired with the earthy pine and citrus of the Simcoe hops they commingle with the floral citrus notes of Citra hops. This is one delicious, juicy and slightly dank IPA.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from their IPA Pack from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My eighth beer from the Hamilton, ON brewery.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. Part of the mixed 6 from Collective Arts. Canned October 15, 2024. Review from notes.
Appearance - Hazy golden straw color with a big three finger head that is robust and long-lived.
Smell - Big tropical notes with a mango and pineapple combo being most prominent, some dankness, elements of lemon and grape too.
Taste - White grape with some mango and a pinch of lychee for added sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium body with crisp carbonation and easy drinking characteristics. Not gassy but plenty of carbonation.
Overall - One of the best ever by Collective Arts, the fruit and citrus holds up even after repeated tastings months after the original canning dates.

473ml can poured into pint glass. From notes.
Pours a murky orange with 1 finger of off-white head that leaves jagged volcanic rock lace as it recedes.
Smells of lemon rind, white grape, bready caramel malt, wet stone and resiny hops.
Tastes of muddled citrus rind, soft bread crust, mineral water and more dank pine resin.
Feels soft and fluffy. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Finishes dry.
Verdict: Highly recommended. Another hit from a very dependable brewery.

Golden bronze with a slight haze, only a thin ring of retention, but it leaves some lace.
Good hop aroma, tangerine, mango, papaya, grassy weed, hints of cat pee on a gooseberry bush.
Good bitterness, but a light sponge toffee sweetness still comes through. Lots of mango, papaya, gooseberry and tangerine, steelie, with a slight garlic and onion flavour as well.
Moderate body has a light acidity and a slightly drying finish.
Thanks BakaGaijin!

Pours hazy honey gold with a chunky, frothy head. Huge tropical, pineapple, citrus aroma. An onslaught of juicy, tropical nelson sauvin and citra hops mix with pineapple, melon, and a myriad of other hop characters in the giant taste. Biscuity malt sweetness is barely noticeable in the back. Mouthcoating bitterness. The finish is long, fruity and very bitter.
A fantastic very hoppy IPA. Super bitter and dank with lots of hop dimensions. A must try for any hophead. It's so impressive how good Ontario IPAs have gotten.

Can from Sobeys Ottawa for $3.50. Would have preferred to have this fresher, but it's still a great beer.

I am unsure of the reason for this one. Don't get me wrong - I like Collective Arts and Ransack the Universe is one of my favourite Canadian beers but this one tastes so similar to it that it really didn't need to be made. I expected a more noticeable variation and I don't just mean in the alcohol content. In fact it has a slightly dirty aftertaste if anything.
Still, it's a good buy.
