Beady Eyes is our uniquely inspired three-way collaboration with our awesome friends Marz Community Brewing Co. from Chicago and our hometown fried dough legends Donut Monster. Inspired by one of Donut Monster’s distinct flavour creations, we brewed this pale ale with generous amounts of bright blood orange and hibiscus, backed by a large amount of citrusy hops. To round out the donut feel, we added lactose sugar for an extra creamy body.

From the bottom of the can: "01/06/20 17:02"
Appearance: The body has a pinkish-orange color that is opaque. The head is thick and frothy with popping bubbles across a rocky surface that is slightly off-white. It eventually settles on a short head of variously sized large and small bubbles. A ring of pearl bubbles circumnavigate the edge of the glass when all is done.
Aroma: There is a light aroma of alcohol, some lime, and a light sour smell. As a whole it isn't the most appealing but it also doesn't detract too much from the beer.
Taste: There is a strange corn flavor, some sourness, and an awkward tart presence in the middle. Not all that enjoyable as a whole.
Mouthfeel: It is light and smooth with a chalk-like finish.
Overall: A strange beer. The can states that it is a "PALE ALE BREWED W/ BLOOD ORANGE, HIBISCUS & LACTOSE." In the context of the can description it does feel a bit spicy, similar to other hibiscus beers, and it does have some blood orange character. Going into it blind there isn't a lot of readily available character to enjoy though. While the beer is drinkable, I wouldn't jump to drink it again. It isn't something I'd recommend either. The beer was canned in January so that might have an influence on the flavor and aroma, but as it stands I wouldn't recommend it.

Cool cover art and cheap price just 2.25 for the pounder into a stella chalice.
A - Well it's Blood orange like legit reddish copper color with a nice 1/2 inch of foam that settles pretty slowly.
S - Very fruity peachy and blood orange tart. Doesn't smell very herbal or get any lactose.
T - Wow I am kind of underwhelmed with that much fruity smell the taste doesn't have much sweet fruit or tart aspect to it. Not bad or offensive but again just a mildly fruity pale ale.
M - Well it's easy going on the palate very smooth and balanced light bodied has a bit of herbal twang if chugged.
Overall love collective arts they make some pretty tasty brews and I can't fault them on this since I got it so cheap so I just want to say I enjoyed it and move on.

Not sure if this was formally introduced but for me it was Parkdale Beer Festival Beer #11. Thanks Roy! Review from notes. Collaboration with Donut Monster.
Appearance - slightly hazy rich salmon color color. Not much head or retention.
Smell - Some hibiscus and some slight peachy and nectarine aromas. Mild amount of hoppiness. Blood orange figures in prominently.
Taste - Some hibiscus lots of blood orange. Some slight peachy and nectarine flavors. Some earthy hoppiness, but doesn't quite work here. The blood orange is again the star making this almost too fruity, while lacking some depth of flavor.
Mouthfeel - Medium boided with some soft carbonation. Pretty juicy and easy drinking.
Overall - A good beer, but left unimpressed. Would try again if it's sold in singles at the LCBO. Worth a try but maybe not the 4 pack unless beers like this are up your alley.
