Collective Arts Brewing "Border Crossing"
16 fl. oz. can "BB:FEB/23/2023" and sampled on JUL/15/2022
$4.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: I have so many questions about this beer, and specifically this can of beer. Is the best by date really February 23, 2023? That's over 7 months from now, and IPAs don't usually hold up that long ~ I should actually say 'they DON'T hold up that long'. Also, why does it say on the label "PUERTO RICO DO NOT LITTER"? ~ I don't really want to touch that so I'll just leave that there. It's brewed with Vic Secret, Simcoe, and Cascade hops at 6% ABV. A finger's width of white foam tops a very hazy golden body. The aroma is fairly bright with pineapple, passionfruit, and pine. The flavor follows with some additional apple, mixed berries, grapefruit, herbs, and floral character. The malt is sweetish, grainy, and bready. A solid bitterness backs it and it finishes dry, a little fruity & floral at first, but then herbal, spicy, and earthy. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp-then-smooth across the palate. The head held up OK and it left some nice lacing about the glass but it wasn't great. All in all I find this to be a decent IPA that has a good balance and a fair amount of complexity.

A collab with Thin Man Brewery, this pours very pale but with a solid head. The nose if mostly citrus with faint wood. The taste is quite bizarre. It's mostly lemon, with earthy notes and cigar. But all this in a messed up, non balanced way. The feel is quite sharp, obtrusively so. NE? I don't think so.
Quite a miss for me, won't have it again.

2,300th Review! 473 ml can from the brewery for about $5.45 CDN. Served cold into a chalice with a canning date of February 23, 2022.
Appearance - Rather turbid and hazy pale golden brew with about two fingers of white head on top. Fades away quickly leaving a small curtain of lacing and soapy looking edges.
Smell - Tropical and floral notes mostly, so mango and pomegranate with elements of pineapple and a floral perfumey bouquet backing everything else up. A little bit of that gym sock funk going on with tropical fruit.
Taste - Refreshing and plenty of citrus, medium bitterness, mango and passionfruit and pomegranate mostly. Little bit of lemon zest following it all up.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, easily crushable, good level of carbonation, right on point.
Overall - Very enjoyable brew, flavors are great, very easy drinking and if cost was no object, this would be a staple in my fridge while it lasts.
