473ml can served cold into a tulip. Purchased from the brewery with a canning date of September 20, 2023.
Appearance - Super hazy and turbid plum colored brew. A couple finger of loose but yet chunky purple foam stay on top. Modest head retention, but streaks left behind from a puree on the glass.
Smell - Medicinal and herbal, more pronounced in the glass than from the can. Some dark berries and maybe some cranberries mixed in. There's something a little strange going on that makes this a pretty unappealing brew to smell.
Taste - Lots of berries, some bitterness, again a medicinal taste although not as pronounced as the nose. Some bitterness that blends with a tartness from the berries themselves.
Mouthfeel - Fairly full bodied, this is more smoothie IPA than anything else. Very creamy and low on the carbonation, does match up with a smoothie style.
Overall - My first time around I didn't notice the intensity of the herbal and medicinal qualities on the nose and in the taste. The second time around, it was prevalent, too prevalent for this to be a repeat purchase. Will appeal to some, but think this is a miss for Collective Arts.

Pastry, yes, but I didn't expect a dark purple pour. Thick as juice. The nose is bubble gum, but also a berry that does not smell the best. This odour mixture does become slightly less obtrusive by the second sip, but only slightly. The taste is mostly berry with hops. Mosaic hops help, but Barbe Rouge from France does not. This would be a refreshing summer beer I guess, although that currant aftertaste is somewhat off-putting. I'm not sure what pastry this is trying to recreate, if I'm honest.
Try once but perhaps not again.

Wow....what the hell is this. It tastes like medicine and has a smell that makes you want to hold your nose before every sip. Why can't I just get a normal beer anymore!? Avoid this garbage. it is undrinkable.
