From tasting notes 07/14/18
Had on-tap at Out of Bounds in Folsom, CA
Appearance - Served in 12oz snifter, clear and orange amber in color with thin, broken layer of suds and ring around edge. No lacing.
Smell - Aroma is fair blackberry with lesser floral character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Prominent blackberry notes with lesser floral hoppines. Hint of grassy bitterness develops in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with moderate, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a dry finish.
Overall - Okay DIPA. Relies too heavily on the blackberry aspects. While the floral notes are a decent secondary layer, its not enough to save this from being mostly one-dimensional.

This has been on the list to try as I have heard great things about it. I live pretty close to Out of Bounds Brewing Biergarten and every time I have been there, they have been sold out. Saw it in the local grocery store and bought it since it is reasonably fresh with a bottle date of 05/17/18. Smell is decent with hints of fruity, hoppiness. Initially the taste followed the nose with hints of blackberry...after the first few sips, the blackberry faded and a heavy double IPA alcohol bitterness hit me hard. Now, I am willing to give it another chance and will try it fresh out of the tap at the biergarten to see if it lives up to the hype. This time, though...it did not.
