Off the tap at the brewery. Pours a finger of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is licorice and burnt wood.
The taste is quite bitter for a stout (72 IBU), roasted malt and milk.
The texture is crisp with soft edges, moderate carbonation.
The strong bitterness did not blend well with the rest of the beer... for me at least.

Granite Chief Stout
Breif notes from tasting at C C Capital Brewfest:
decent stout, coffee and chocolate notes. bitter back end. average mountfeel
Don't remember a whole lot since was only a sample during a day with tons of different beer.
Would like to give it another shot in a different setting/glass, etc.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
