Big malty flavor from Vienna-style malts fades away to a clean bitterness from Perle hops for a full-flavored and balanced experience.

This one pours a light golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells lightly malty, with some honey, and light hop character.

This isn't bad, per se, but it's just a bit boring. It's got a light but appropriately toasty malt backbone, with very little hip character, and a touch of sweetness as the beer warms up.

This is light bodied, clean, and very crisp, with a good drinkability to it.

This is pleasant enough, and certainly inoffensive.

Golden-colored. Very much hop-forward. Not much malt taste. Crisp and dry finish. Not really a märzen as listed on the label. Actually closer to a festbier.

From a can. Pours a golden yellow with a moderate white head of foam. The nose is cracker, malt, and some herbal hops. Tastes similar to smell with a slight honey sweetness and more of a biscuit than a cracker note on the grain. Bitterness level is more akin to a festbier than a märzen. Medium bodied and finishes slightly less clean than is expect.

Ugh what is this? Way too hoppy and bitter to be considered in Oktoberfest One reviewer commented muddled and muddy which is best described it. The color was a bit lighter too compared to hell Town's version. Not bad just something I would ever seek out again

Clear, golden/amber (SRM 5-7). Occasional tiny bubbles busily race by to reinforce a fluffy white head. The head briefly reaches one inch before dissipating to a thick coat of lace and a thick blanket capping the beer. The Pretentious Glass Company dimpled mug sparkles in name and in presence.

Sweet malt yields to light earthy notes, with caramel in the background. There is also a sensation of toasted sourdough.

The flavor is simple, with malt and light nibbles of earthy hops. Plain bagels come to mind, just before the long finish. The finish is a dull version of the entry and middle flavors. Overall, it is a bit muddy.

A medium body and soft, slick texture givesan oily impression. The carbonation is modest, while the alcohol is well below expectations.

This is an easy drinking beer. It's probably best after work with soft pretzels, or while watching a game and eating corn chips and queso.

Clear gold with a hint of red and a short lived white head
The aroma of malts, biscuits, and some sort of bitter/sour smell I can't place
Well balanced malts riding on top of crackers and unbuttered biscuits and finishing cleanly with a hint of straw.
Overall, very nice. Not a typical märzen and very well done.

Pours a pale clear copper. Thin head. Not much flavor. Light malt body with a bitter finish. It's a light beer version of an Oktoberfest. This one's better left on the shelf.

L- The beer pours a deep gold, not quite amber, and clear. The head is a good 3 fingers high of dense off-white bubbles. The head recedes to a thick film leaving irregular lacing behind.
S- The nose has a lovely spicy hop element that is common to most Oktoberfest brews. This one is stronger than many. Malt plays in the backround and is toasty in nature.
T- Toasted malt flavor up front. Hops rise up in the middle of the sip and just barely crest a balanced profile. Hops then fade away to leave a lingering lightly sweet finish.
F- Mouthfeel overall is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is light but prickly. Carbonation in combination with the flavor profile really nail the drinkability here.
O-This is a fine Oktoberfest. It has superb drinkability with just enough sweetness to satisfy without tiring out the palate. I will happily drink this again. Recommended.

Really enjoyed this. Paler than most oktoberfests and has what seems to be a slightly more wheat beer like flavor to it than most oktoberfests. This is my gateway drug to trying more of Hamburg's beers.

A: [4.00] The bottle lists the ABV (5.7%) and it has a super clear bottled on date (09/26/2016). The beer is a slightly hazy golded orange color. It has about 1/2 a finger of white head that recedes leaving some traces on the edges of the glass.

S: [3.50] Caramel, toffee, pumpkin spices.

T: [4.00] Toffee, brown bread, french bread crust.

M: [4.00] Nice crisp body and carbonation. Lingering sweet notes from the malts.

O: [3.75] I like this one quite a bit. Hits all of the classic Marzen notes of caramel and toffee. There are some bready malts in there that help give it depth and balance. I know this is from Hamburg, NY but it could be Hamburg Germany (good representation of the style and the origin).

12 ounce bottle
L - looks very inviting. Nice half inch head dissipates leaving a beautiful lace around my glass. The brew is a clear, light gold- dark straw in color.

S - smell is very clean and malty- not a heavy sweet malty but a light, cookie like maltiness. The malt hits first followed by a spicy light hop nose. The perle hops are a nice compliment to the light malt. Something more robust like a hallertau for instance would overwhelm the light malt and really make the nose out of balance.

T - at first come the maltiness followed by some light hop. The malt profile reminds me a little of a Vienna lager.. I am not sure why. This beer tastes good, how's that?

F - light carbonation. The mouthfeel is not heavy nor light beer light but right in the middle. Finishes clean with a tiny dry finish.

O - this is where some one might say that this isn't an octoberfest - "it isn't heavy, sweet malt goodness some great noble hop spiciness." No it isn't. Nor is it intended to be. This is a well balanced nice festival beer - a nice beer to throw back during the fall season. Highly recommend. Just remember it is a beer styled after the more golden variety of maerzen and NOT the darker variety, you will not be disappointed. Cheers!
