Pours from the growler a nearly pitch black except for some reddish brown when held to the light,a creamy beige head atop.Bourbon, vanilla, and oak stand out most in the nose with some mild chocolate and roast underneath.A little light in the feel takes away from the richness of the flavors, bourbon and vanilla flavors upfront sweet alcohol and chocolate rounding out the palate.Decent but to me not nearly as good as others have rated, just my opinion....

Aroma: Bourbon Forward, but with lovely bakers chocolate and coffee tones...
Taste: Floral booze tones lift the ale with chocolate. coffee, soft char and earthy bitterness. Body: Drinks well for the ABV, Low Full in the body.
Excellent ale overall, would love to have it again, Cheers!

Growler shared by Bob at Curran's tasting.
Pours a nearly pitch black, with a good half inch creamy mocha colored head.
Smells like chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and oak.
The taste is similar. This is a nice surprise from a new-ish brewery. Lots of chocolate and bourbon folded together nicely, with some vanilla, cream, a little bit of dark fruits, and oak and coconut, Delicious!
Medium to thick bodied, very creamy smooth mouthfeel. Despite the ABV, this is very drinkable without any alcohol burn.
This was the dark horse of the night's tasting, came out of left field and was delicious.

Poured from growler obtained from Premier Gourmet.
Appearance - dark brown with minimal head
Smell - Bourbon/oak
Taste - vanilla with chocolate and bourbon notes
Mouthfeel - a bit thinner than expected for the style
Overall - good brew, bourbon aging really added to the flavor, probably could have aged a bit longer

Snagged a Growler with my buddy Andy at the brewery
Pours out fast and somewhat thinner than most BA imperial stouts do. Pretty dark, almost completely black with just a little bit of light pushing through the edges of the glass, dark amber coming through, barely. Very small mocha head that disappears in an instant.
Doesnt give off a big aroma, just a hint of bourbon and smokey malts. From the smell I didn't expect too much from this beer.
The taste was surprisingly better than expected. Good bourbon notes all throughout with chocolaty malts and faint coffee. Pretty good vanilla and slight molasses notes coming from the barrel I assume.
Mouthfeel is probably the most disappointing thing about this beer. Its very thin, however it makes it pretty damn easy to drink. If there was such thing as a session BA stout this would be it. The thinness may deter some people from grading this as a high quality beer but its perfect if you have a bourbon itch and want something that isn't gonna be a sipper.
Overall I was impressed with this beer, especially since Hamburg Brewery is relatively very new. I like how they are throwing out big beer styles right off the bat. Hopefully with some more years under their belt they would refine this guy into a world class BA stout
