On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a sort of dark-ish orange color, with a small head, and a good amount of lacing.
This one doesn't smell as tropical and exotic as the hop bill would leave you to believe it's gonna smell like (Simcoe, Nelson, Wai-iti), but it still smells pretty good, lots of grapefruit, some orange, hint of mango, and lots of pine.
As mentioned in the bit about the aroma, there's not much to suggest that this is an IPA brewed with new fancy tropical hops, rather than standard grapefruit/pine C-hops. It does taste pretty good, though, with a heavy bitterness on this finish, piney and fairly clean, with some grapefruit, orange, and a bit of something that could be mango. There's not much in the way of malt character, here.
This is lighter bodied, with a very crisp mouthfeel, and a good level of carbonation.
I think this may be only the 2nd beer I've had from these guys. This one seems like a waste of fancy expensive hops, but it's still pretty tasty.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
