If you're looking for the hipsterish hop-forwardness with pale-ale bitterness that comes from many of the current batch of craft lagers, this might not be it: it's classic Vienna-style with nice head retention, a little sweetness, a light coppery color and a pleasant, light hop finish. Character might be described as slightly grassy. It would not be inappropriate to drink with a dram of something warm on the side. I like it.

Poured into mug: color is straw, good effervescence, head is bright white with a 2 inch top at first, then great lingering head with lacing on the glass.

Smell is light sweet malt, toast, biscuit, then bright, bitter hops.

Taste is similar with lightly sweet malt, some biscuit and toast, then moderate noble hops with grassy dominant flavor.

Mouthfeel is crisp, maybe a bit overly bitter for the style.

Overall a good german pilsner with a bit sweet flavor and lightly bitter mouthfeel.

Pours clear, light yellow in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is German malts, grass and grain. Light bodied, crisp, moderate carbonation, and sweet. Makes for an above average German style lager. Noce and refreshing for the summer months.
