Pours a hazy, golden-mango in color with a thin layer of head that dissipates to a film which leaves lacing around the glass as you drink. Aroma is quite fruity, mostly of the tropical variety... with maybe a hint of pear. There are also some yeasty notes and a very faint hint of roasty malts. On the first gulp I definitely noticed the rye malts, but on subsequent gulps the hops, which stick on the tongue, somewhat mask the maltiness. The flavor is most definitely dominated by the hops which follow the nose quite well. Lots of tropical fruits and citrus. Grapefruit rind comes through strongly after the swallow and lingers forever on the tongue. The body is medium with lively carbonation. An easy drinker. Overall this is quite a tasty AIPA. It reminds me a lot of Ballast Point's Even Keel -- especially the maltiness and mouthfeel -- but it packs a lot more punch. Sure to please those chasing after a west coast style IPA.

Aroma is tropical and floral, the hops are balanced but not overwhelming. The beer leans a bit towards a West Coast style. Beer is a rye IPA with lots of tasty Mosaic hops. One of my favorites!
