real tasty ipa here, clear and well refined, leading with nelson hops, and brewed with tangerines, nice combination of flavors, excellent dosing, not sweet or over fruited, and with just enough malt to keep it balanced, i liked this a lot, found it fresh and layered and interesting, and its up there with the best beers ive had from these guys, although its admittedly not as many as i would like. some shine to it, medium copper color, has a short lived white head on it, but does leave some lace in its wake. the aroma is great, more bitter and green to mean than expected for nelson, and while i do get white wine and white floral notes from that, i also get like bitter pine and grapefruit, almost a simcoe thing, higher alpha, unique on the hops side anyway, especially with the essential oily tangerine, identifiable as such, not just citrus or orange but tangerine specifically. the grain seems toasted, a touch sweet, and the ferment is clean. the flavor is just like the nose, tangerine is obvious but this isnt overdone, its super authentic too, real fruity to me, with a little acid and rindy bite to the back end along with some hop bitterness which i dont mind at all. its bright and jubilant and fresh, the nelson profile rises above the rest of this as it warms up, green melon and pineapple flashes at the end, enough malt to it, medium body, plenty of carbonation, flavorful yet drinkable, cool that this isnt a hazy, very tasty overall, and well made. more please!

Pours a darker amber orange with a finger of creamy foam and lacing.
Aroma is sweet bready caramel malt with some citrus peel coming through.
Similar flavors, caramel, bread crusts, caramelized sugars, light grapefruit.
Sticky feel at first, medium bodied with a light lingering bitterness.
Overall it’s a quality IPA, a little too sweet and caramelly for my taste.
Thanks to Severstad for the crowler!
