A medium bodied brown ale brewed with caramel malts, coffee, and vanilla. This beer uses a lighter brown ale base before introducing the coffee into the flavor profile, thus allowing the roasted mocha flavor to shine through. Buzzy Badger drinks like a cold-brew coffee and is an excellent choice for all seasons.

Pours out of the can a slightly muddy brown with little head. Smells like coffee, as it should and carmel. Taste follows the nose very well, while the mouthfeel is nice and full. A really good balanced Coffee Ale that I would certainly recommend.

I bought a can of this beer off the single shelf from a beer store in LaCrosse, Wisconsin whilst there for my daughter's gymnastics meet. It poured a hazy dark amber with khaki head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had coffee notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet chocolate malt base and coffee ground presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Got in a trade with GreenBayBA. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/28/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, dark fruit, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of coffee, dark/bready/light roast malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty medium roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, dark fruit, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy hop; and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of nutty coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, dark fruit, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, dark/bready/light roast malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. A tad thin feeling, but not bad. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent coffee American brown ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, dark/bready/light roast malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Great balance of fruity/nutty coffee and nicely rich malt complexity; with balancing earthy hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a amber to brown sort of color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Light lace. The aroma had some coffee notes, light caramel malt. Some toast, then vanilla cream. Light hazelnut. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side through the prior noted aromas. Clean nutty crisp toast adds to it and ends up all blending into a nice aftertaste and a nice finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Sly carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, nicely done brown ale that I wouldn’t mind having again if I lived in its distro.

Had on tap. Clear brown body with a white ring. Smell is lead by coffee but not in an overwhelming way, toast, toffee, and vanilla accent. Taste is much the same with spiced nuts added, but the sip is short lived and very light. Feel is leans thin after initial salvo, very smooth. Solid coffee brown for early autumn
