Review from BA Mag Issue #119 ( Dec 2016 )
Toasty, Wood, Vinous, Fruity
Not only does Badger State do a spectacular job with the Belgian side of this brew, the barrel aging aspect is a mindblow. Lots of toasty wood and juicy, vinous flavors are present here, but for such a big beer, it lands quite dry, which only adds to the drinkability, a dangerous refreshing attribute. The Belgian-like flavors are tame yet noticeable overall with only a mild level of ripe fruitiness, slight gumminess, and a bit of medicinal phenol. All of that plays well with the wine character that is pulled from the barrel aging. Impressive. [Jason]

Somewhat clear orangey brown body with a kahki cap. Musky green grape with bread yeast, pressed flowers, orange pith, and a lot of brett in the nose. Taste is pretty much the same, the must and brett overpower a bit. Feel is boozier and musty, lighter body but balance is off a bit
